Split Expertise Transfer: An Innovative Collaborative Approach to Support Accelerated Expertise Transfer

摘要

Expertise transfer is a complex, however fundamental process in organizations. To save money and mitigate expertise loss risk, organizations are investigating not only expertise transfer techniques, but also how to accelerate expertise. Our hypothesis is that split expertise from an individual to transfer to a collaborative team constitute a viable and effective accelerated expertise technique. Beyond that, collaborative teams produce other valuable outcomes for organizations, as teams overcoming individuals and expertise loss risk mitigation. This paper contributes with a new concept to support accelerated expertise transfer named Split Expertise Transfer. This new concept is presented through a set of activities that aims to support the development of complex systems to address the complex problem of accelerated expertise transfer. This new concept was embodied in an architecture to support Split Expertise Transfer in order to investigate the feasibility of the new concept proposed.
