The effects of the signature and parity splitting in nuclear spectra and the properties of the chiral bands are analyzed basing on a one-dimensional Schr?dinger equation with a double-minimum potential. Rotational bands in odd axial nuclei, alternating parity bands in even-even nuclei and the chiral bands in odd-odd nuclei are considered. The results obtained are discussed.
