The potential use of biopolymers in biomedical applications due to their biocompatibility,non-toxicity and bioabsorbability has been of interest in the additive manufacturing industry within the last few decades.Fused Deposition modeling (FDM) emerged as an inexpensive cost effective and versatile research tool that allows the modeling of objects by melting and extruding thermoplastic polymers.Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) exhibits excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility,however,its current use in FDM has been limited due to its poor printability and narrow processing window.Research of PHBV based blends paves the way for its potential uses in industrial and biomedical applications.
