摘要

This work shows an analytic, numeric and experimental study of hydrostatic journal bearings for grinding machines' wheel heads. Based on Bassani's [2] formulation, an analytical program for the calculus of bearings' performance has been developed. On the other hand, numerical results have been obtained with the commercial software FLUENT. To compare the results of the models, a test bench of hydrostatic bearings has been built. Pumping pressure and journal speed effect have been analysed in the static behaviour of the bearings: Temperature increase, pressure into recess, flow-rate through guide, stiffness and load capacity of hydrostatic bearing.
