INFLUENCE OF THE POSTURE OF OLED PANELS ON THE FLUX MAINTENANCE EXPERIMENTS

Organic electroluminescent lighting (OLED) is expected to become one of the next generation lighting devices that will substitute conventional illuminating devices. Luminous flux maintenance, the percentage of the remaining luminous flux at a specified elapsed operating time, is one of the most important features for light sources as critical information to define their lifetime, which is essential to describe their performance. In order to establish a standard method for the evaluation of luminous flux maintenance, it is essential to define standard experimental conditions, which should be based on experimental data. In this study, we try to find the influence of the posture of the OLED panel empirically on the luminous flux maintenance by holding several OLED panels in different postures under the same operating conditions. Total luminous flux gradually degraded as the operating time increased. However, significant trend hasn't observed caused by the postures of the panels after 9000 hours.
