To quantitatively estimate the potential effect when the different condition would be applied to the evaluation of the UV response index and the IR response index of a photometer according to ISO/CIE 19476, conditions on UV filters, UVA sources and IR filters were varied to see the corresponded change of the indices by using six types of general-purpose photometers commercially available. Spectral differences such as wavelength shift, inclusion of some emission lines, optical degradation and production tolerance were the main parameter to be considered. It was found that wavelength shift of the UV filter has significant effect for the UV response index depending on the UVA source to be used, whereas the IR response index is generally small enough not to be sensitive to the small wavelength shift of the IR filter.
