Acetylene is an important raw material used in different industrial applications so its separation and purification is necessary. Ionic Liquids (ILs) have been proposed as alternative solvents for acetylene absorption with the aim of avoiding solvent loss and environmental pollution that traditional absorbents usually employed (N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) or N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) present.
