With the rapid development of power system, future power grid companies are not only power suppliers, but also providers of energy products service systems, providing users with high-quality power products services. As a direct user-oriented part, the safe and stable operation of distribution network has an important impact on the realization of power product service system. This paper analyzes the influence of the low-voltage-side connection mode of the medium-voltage distribution network on total supply capability (TSC). Firstly, to cope with the incapability of the traditional TSC linear programming model in reflecting the load transfer priority in the substation after a fault, this paper proposes TSC approximation algorithm based on N-1 criterion. Secondly, through case study, this paper illustrates how TSC varies with substation low-pressure-side main connection. Finally, explanations are given to the change of TSC. This paper provides a theoretical basis for the planning of the substation main connection mode and can be used to guide the future distribution network planning.
