The proper employment of multimedia in mobile learning and in educational materials facilitates learning for students. Lesson materials that successfully incorporate multimedia can improve and simplify the learning process. A previous paper by the authors presented an initial method for designing multimedia interfaces for mobile learning and evaluated the method for effectiveness. The evaluation showed generally positive results, indicating the effectiveness of the method, but one issue remained to be resolved. This issue relates to the mapping process (mapping the information type to specific multimedia). Most participants agreed on the difficulty of assigning a media to a specific information type even with a decision tree and heuristic guidance. In this paper, we define and evaluate the latest version of the method for designing mobile learning, including the results of six case studies carried out using the method to design mobile learning interfaces with multimedia. Specifically, this paper focuses on defining the steps of the final version, explaining the solution of the mapping process and evaluating the method. The evaluation was done by testing the usability of the method using think-aloud protocol. Finally, the paper discusses the results of applying the think-aloud protocol.
