As a fully Lagrangian projection-based method, the moving particlesemi-implicit method (MPS) has remarkable advantages on thesimulation of multiphase free surface flows involving large surface andinterface deformations. In this study, a multiphase MPS method is putforward to investigate the interaction between sluicing water and afluvial mud bed which is treated as a high-viscous Newtonian fluid anda Bingham plastic fluid, respectively. The numerical results are verifiedby relevant experiment results, and the comparisons demonstrate thatthe proposed multiphase MPS method can reproduce the interactionbetween sluicing water and fluvial mud beds with a satisfactoryprecision.
