In recent years, with the rapid development of laser and optical detection technology, as a kind ofspectroscopic technique for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of elements, laser-induced breakdownspectroscopy (LIBS) has been more widely used in the field of deep space exploration. In this paper, thedevelopment history and significance of human deep space exploration are briefly introduced, then the basicprinciple and development status of LIBS are outlined, and then the latest application progress of LIBS inthe field of deep space exploration is introduced in detail. Finally, the application prospect of LIBS in deepspace exploration is prospected.
