The article deals with connection of Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) assistance service to a C2C (Car-to-Car) unit, which actively monitors the state of kinetic properties of vehicle using VANET. It describes possible solutions of finding horizontal road marking using segmentation method based on Hough's transformation. The algorithm designed in Matlab programming environment detects deviation of vehicle from its driving lane, triggers the resulting alarm which is transferred in a form of an authorised message between vehicles via C2C communication.
