The following two models for virus-resistant transgenic plants constructing will be discussed in my talk. First is the "suicide model": the virus-triggered induction of virus subgenomic promoter for toxic protein production by virus-infected cells of transgenic plant. And the second is the "movement-protein model": production of the nonfunctional movement protein (MP) in transgenic plants.
