摘要

The future development of lightweight construction technology depend especially on the material properties of the used components. The claim of better material properties with simultaneous weight reduction gives rise to the development of technologically advanced casting methods. Thixocasting and Magnesium die casting meet this requirements. In this paper the two technologies were presented and the potential for future applications is shown. The alloy development and the numerical simulation are the main topics in the field of Thixocasting. In terms of the Magnesium technology a new furnace concept with an total encapsulation of the melt, the dosing device and the die will be introduced. Finally, the importance and the use of lubrications will be discussed.
