The Department of Energy (DOE) twenty-four hour simulated use test is a standard test method for measuring the energy efficiency of a water heather.The total heat loss measured with this test includes losses through inlet and outlet piping,the temperature and pressure relief valve,openings in the polyurethane foam reeded for electrical components,and the polyurethane foam insulation.The heat loss contributions of the individual components cannot be readily isolated with this test.
