Numerous studies focus on ZnO powders or ceramics: Co-doped ZnO powder is a green pigment, Al-doped ZnO compounds can be so used as InfraRed low emissive layers and ZnO doped with various divalent ions can lead to dilute ferromagnetism. In this paper, our investigations, dealing with these three different aspects, were correlated in order to optimize the material composition/morphology besides the applications. The parameters enabling the control of Co/(Al)-doped ZnO pigments color, of Al-doped ZnO InfraRed barriers efficiency, of magnetic interactions between paramagnetic ions of Co/(Al)-doped ZnO powders, were discussed basing on the comparison of the three compositions: Zn_(0.98)Co_(0.05)O, Zn_(0.99)Al_(0.01)Oand Zn_(0.97)Co_(0.02)Al_(0.01)O.
