The present paper describes a flow separation in the diffuser at low Reynolds number. The range of Reynolds number in the experiment is 200 to 5000. The opening angle of the diffuser is 6 deg, and no separation occurs in the turbulent flow regime. At Reynolds number of 1000 to 2000, the flow separation occurs, and the separation region expands with decreasing Reynolds number. Under Reynolds number of 1000, the separation region reduces with decreasing Reynolds number, and the flow separation is not observed at Reynolds number of 400. When the flow regime is laminar, the re-circulation flow in the separation region is very weak like a dead water region.
