摘要

Fractional deposition of particles inhaled in the human respiratory tract was calculated using a computer program (LUDEP) that implements the ICRP respiratory tract model for radiation protection. The fractional deposition in each region of respiratory tract was expressed as a function of particle size. The calculated results indicated that the fractional deposition was considerably affected by particle size. LUDEP can be used for the estimation of dose from radionuclides deposited in the respiratory tract. The dose from radon progeny was calculated under typical exposure conditions. The calculation showed that the dose per unit exposure to radon progeny is sensitive to the size of the particles to which the radon progeny were attached.
