In order to realize preliminary evaluation of process design, a virtual processing algorithm for the intelligent stamping process was proposed. Using this algorithm, all phases, process design, process control and system implementation, can be performed virtually. To enhance the reliability of a system, a ductile fracture criterion was applied to the virtual system for fracture prediction. Through the implementation of the system, it was confirmed that all the process phases are virtually performed in order, and finally, cup height improvement was accomplished. This analytical result indicates that the virtual processing algorithm is highly useful for system evaluation during the design process before constructing the real system. Engineers can save time and cost savings considerable by using this virtual processing system.
