Pseudopolyrotaxanes are supramolecular assemblies made by spontaneous threading a polymer in cyclic molecules.Polyrotaxanes based on cyclodextrins (cycloamyloses of 6,7,8 units,respectively named alpha-CD,beta-CD and gamma-CD) and polyethylene oxide (PEO) were first reported by Harada et at.In this case,alpha-CD and PEO were shown to form pseudorotaxane due to a specific interaction between the hydrophobic cavity of the alpha-CD and the PEO.
