Along with the evolution of nanotechnology, Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxanes (POSS) have received wide attention as precursors to high-performance materials. This is due to the development of efficient synthetic protocols for preparation of the inorganic Si8O12 core with 1-8 functional hydrocarbyl groups .
