摘要

Developing functionalized polyolefins is an important and challenging theme in polyolefins research and development. The presence of functional groups on the non-polar polyolefin chains imparts functionalized polyolefins with enhanced materials properties, such as toughness, barrier properties, surface properties, miscibility with other polar polymers, etc. Owing to the highly oxophilic nature of most catalyst systems for olefin coordination polymerization, the commercial production of functionalized polyethylenes is generally restricted to ethylene radical copolymerization with polar functional comonomers. Though the developments in low-oxophilic late-transition-metal Pd- diimine catalysts have enabled the direct olefin copolymerization with functional comonomers, the comonomer incorporation is usually low and the comonomer types are rather limited.
