摘要

APTS B.V. and Berkhof Jonckheere Group B.V. focus in particular on the development of a new generation of tram-style vehicles for public transport in urban areas. These vehicles are to be named after Phileas Fogg the main character in the book 'Around the World in 80 Days' by Jules Verne. Because the infrastructure and alterations to the infrastructure are a high cost factor, the vehicles are based on the 'bus concept'; i.e. articulated motor vehicles designed for urban and regional transportation of 100 to 200 passengers. The vehicles have pneumatic tyres and are in principle autonomous in terms of fuel and power. The bus concept also offers the highest degree of flexibility. As a result of the lightweight construction and the hybrid drive-train the energy consumption of these vehicles is up to 30% less than comparable vehicles. Furthermore, in the town center they can be operated emission-free for a short distance. By using electric propulsion, electronic guidance and dedicated lanes, the bus concept can achieve the advantages, which are normally associated with tram and metro transport.
