Amorphous Co_xB_yH_z nanoparticles, produced in "Y" type reactor, exhibit the highest electrochemical characteristics compared with the same composition nanoparticles, synthesized in other reactors. The electrochemical performance of nanoparticles, produced by borohydride reduction, in alkaline solutions depends on the composition, structure and hydrodynamic conditions during their preparation. At the same chemical composition of nanoparticles, the electrochemical process takes place with a considerably higher velocity on electrodes possessing amorphous structure than on those having crystalline structure. The former electrodes also possess considerably larger discharge capacity values than the second ones. Depends on the particular composition, the electrochemical process may proceed via mechanism of electrochemical hydrogen absorption or via mixed mechanism - with a participation of metal and hydrogen.
