A full set of diagnostics for the optimised stellarator W7-X being under construction in Greifswald, Germany, has been defined following the strategy as published earlier. W7-X~2 is a superconducting modular device equipped with a divertor and heated by high power ECRH, NBI, and ICRH. The diagnostics definition was oriented towards the aims of W7-X, considering the neoclassical optimization criteria, the divertor operation, and the possibilities opened up by the long pulse, high density, and steady state operation of the device. The whole work is organized in nine specialist's groups which are either subject or method oriented. Diagnostics proposed by the various groups are briefly summarized in the following sections.
