1. MD Simulation provide detailed EDL structure between ILs and the electrodes. 2. Surface functional groups shift the ion peaks of ions away from the electrode and increase the EDL thickness. 3. [Emim]+ ring adopts more random orientation distribution, not favored for effective ion packing near surface. 4. The observed decrease of differential capacitance after functionalization in MD simulation corresponds well with experimental work.
