摘要

Computer aided display of geothermal data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provide new and some times unexpected results that contribute to improve our knowledge of Mexican fields, even of the best known of them. These results are part of a project to compile and automate data display and processing of studies conducted by the CFE for the last 25 years in production fields. Illustrative examples at Los Azufres are presented. They include the identification of previously unknown circular features, comments about radiant temperature anomalies and results for the location of a directional bore hole. Comprehensive interpretations for most Mexican geothermal fields, using numerical analysis and modeling capabilities of GIS, are in progress.
