Introduction: Because of Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMPs) related to vestibular - spinal reflex authors used them to recognize acoustic neuroma (AN) that arises from cover cells of vestibular nerve Material and methods: Audiometric caloric and electrophysiological (auditory brainstem response-ABR) tests, computer tomography -CT or magnetic resonance image - MRI with gadolinum dye and registeration of VEMPs were performed in acoustic neuroma patients Results: Author observed abnormal, delayed or decreased VEMPs and sometimes lack of VEMPs in persons with AN. Results revealed dissimilar findings of caloric, ABR test and VEMPs. Conclusions: VEMPs may be helpful to diagnose acoustic neuroma, especially when ABR was not be able to register whilest VEMPs were presented.
