A novel polymeric system for delivery and release of oral care actives was recently outlined .The system consists of a polymer binding the active as a part of a pendant ester group.The ester bond is expected to undergo gradual hydrolysis in saliva providing the desired flavor or antimicrobial compound for an extended time.Application of these polymeric systems can help to develop more efficient antimicrobial and fresh breath oral care products.
