Different types of colour modifications have been widely noticed in cultured Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus), in which the skin shows a marked change in appearance comparing to its usual look, becoming either blue-silver or white-pale or even losingall their pigmentation and turning pink. Therefore these fish are not suitable to be sold as external appearance is the first criteria used by the consumers to judge the quality. This means that fish farms that produce fish with modified skin colour inhigh proportion of the population could be losing part of their market production. The aim of this work is to analyse the effects of the skin colour modification of Arctic charr, and to provide to the farmers knowledge on a feasible commercial destiny.
