Sea echinodermata, especially sea urchins, are subjects of many mariculture research (Le Gall and Bucaille, 1989; Fernandez and Caltagirone, 1994; Fernandez, 1996; Gosselin and Jangoux, 1996; Robinson and Colborne, 1998; Kelly et al.,1998; Grosjean etal., 1998; Le Gall, 1990) There is not much research with sea urchins in the Adriatic Sea, which dealt with information on dispersion (Riedl, 1983) or physiological research (Lucu and Skreblin, 1982; Obersnel and Lucu, 1984, 1989). Due to economic interest or the protection of wild stock, experimental rearing based on domestic species was started. The entire eastern Adriatic coast is a natural habitat for the stony sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus. Some parts of investigation were focused on gonads nutrition quality. This study presented data of proximate gonads composition of P. lividus harvested in south Adriatic Sea.
