摘要

The meagre, Argyrosomus regius (Asso 1801) is a promising fast growing species for aquaculture (1kg in first year), which has a distribution that extends along the north-eastern Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean Sea. PLANACOR is the Spanish National Plan for Breeding of Meagre, which is being developed by six Autonomous Governments in Spain, and which is financially supported by JACUMAR, the Spanish Governments advisory group for marine culture (Jimenez et al., 2005). The main objectives of the project are to study reproduction in captivity to obtain natural or induced spawning with GnRHa treatments applied to both wild and hatchery origin broodstock.
