摘要

The persistent presence and the levels of some pollutants found in organisms of the Mediterranean Sea gives a growing concern. Organochlorine pesticides and PCBs in the marine environment, as hydrophobic substances, accumulate in the adipose tissues offish and shell fish, thus entering the food chain. At present there is a scarcity of information on the levels of organochlorine pesticides and PCBs in reared fish from Mediterranean Sea, washing the Sicily. In this site, great interest was shown for the Dicentrarchus labrax (Dl), for which excellent results have been achieved from culture in cages in the Tyrrhenian Sea (Di Bella et at., 1989). This species is very important from the commercial point of view.
