摘要

Wild fish have different patterns of feeding: some eat almost continually, some, especially predators, may feed intermittently with periods of fasting. Some of the marked changes in appetite are temperature-based, and others depend on life-history events. Nutrient requirements of young growing fish, and adults ones, during spawning and out of breeding season, are different. In captivity, fish feeding is also influenced by stocking density, social interactions within group, water quality, diet composition and preferences.
