We propose supercritical carbon dioxide as a new dry cleaning technique for air filter, particularly chemical filters. In this study, the regeneration of chemical filters loaded with diethyl phthalate was investigated by the breakthrough curve and weight recovery with supercritical carbon dioxide under various conditions. The regenerative ratios of filter medias loaded with diethyl phthalate were more than 90 percent on condition that pressure is 20MPa, temperature is 40 or 60 deg C. The regenerative ratios increased with increase in the density of supercritical carbon dioxide, indicating that the regenerative ratio of filter media is determined by the density of supercritical carbon dioxide.
