Four kind of sources of acetaldehyde in indoor air and its formation mechanism were studied. Adhesive of vinyl acetate polymer forms acetaldehyde by hydrolysis reaction after drying and the formation rate is proportion to humidity in exposed air, Acetaldehyde is also emitted from core of wooden boards and mold grown on non-dried wooden boards, Acetaldehyde is formed from ethanol in an air cleaner with photo-catalysis.
