We review our work on oscillating genetic expressions in two regulatory biological networks. The first is the Hes1 protein/hes1 mRNA feedback system which regulates timing in many cell types. The second is the p53-mdm2 protein regulatory system which is important for cell control after DNA damage. In both cases, we formulate sub networks of the full genetic network, by identifying the key players in the genetic regulation. We formulate in each case differential equations of two variables and introduce, based on the biological properties, a time-delay in the equations in order to generate the oscillatory behavior [1, 2], The obtained results are in very good agreement with experimental measurements.
