Extensive research has been carried over the last decades on the elaboration, characterizations and study of the morphology and physical properties of binary polymer/clay or ternary polymer/polymer/clay nanocomposites. Several properties of these materials were significantly improved upon addition of only very small amount of a nanocharge.
