In planetary gear stages, several influences have to be considered. There are multiple gear meshes, bearing clearances, influences from the carrier and additional degrees of freedom. These effects are not part of a quasi-static tooth contact analysis; therefore, a dynamic approach is necessary which allows calculating the running behavior of a planetary gear stage. Furthermore, it has to be checked if and in what way the described influences have an impact to the transmission error between two gears. This will be part of this report, to determine the transmission error in planetary gears. With these results, the development of a dynamic tooth contact analysis should be supported which helps to optimize the excitation behavior of planetary gears. This report describes the first step of this dynamic approach and investigates the influence of multiple gear meshes in planetary gear stages to the transmission error. Furthermore, a test fixture for planetary gears will be presented, which should help in future validating and optimizing the results of the calculation method.
