Objective 1: To analyze, adapt and test methods for processing and interpretation of the medium and high spectral and spatial satellite resolution data. Objective 2: Development of a dedicated sub-system based on RS and GIS technologies to improve flood management and mitigate flood effects in the Romanian - Hungarian transboundary test-area. Objective 3: Elaboration of integrated methods based on hydrological modelling, EO data and GIS facilities for flood management. Objective 4: Adaptation of a semi-distributed rainfall-runoff model to the selected area characteristics and its improvement in order to increase the flood forecast accuracy and the lead-time of the forecast. Objective 5: Elaboration of new satellite-based applications and products, for water management and civil protection local authorities, environmental agencies and private users.
