Research was initiated on a segmentation-based method to fill Landsat ETM+ gaps produced by the failure of the scan line corrector. This method will enable gaps to be filled with same-day spectral information. Work this quarter focused on development and testing of a variety of segment models and fill algorithms. This image series demonstrates the use of a multi-resolution segmentation model using a nearest neighbor fill algorithm. This work is in collaboration with US Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service (USDA NASS).
