Use of additional PWV data from the SCIGN in conjunction with the operational Eta initial analysis could improve the 3-hr and 6-hr QPFs for the Santa Barbara and Ventura County regions in most cases. This part of the project is in progress now. We will perform > 20 case studies to assess a statistically-meaningful impact of the GPS-PWV data on the QPF in the Southern California region.
