Industrial growth and the need for large scale steel producing facilities have pointed towards higher capacity Direct Reduction Plants in the last decade. ENERGIRON technology, as part of a constant innovation vision, has developed bigger size modules and has established a proven wide capacity range of plants adequate for a variety of industry needs.The main variables involved in the analysis for the scaling up of a Direct Reduction Plant are centered in three main factors that can be affected as mainly the size of the vessels increases in volume: solids flow, gas distribution and chemistry of the reactions. Intrinsic characteristics of the ENERGIRON technology have allowed the successful scale up of the plants without disturbing any of the previously mentioned factors.
