This article presents the case study of CVRD Logistics, which shows the utilization of PEL (Logistics Excellence Program), a program of excellence in management and quality, as an instrument for evaluation and consolidation of a management system model. Excellence and quality programs are increasingly used by organizations that wish to be recognized as world-class organizations. Customized to the business to a high degree, PEL, as well as being a comparative performance measurement tool for similar business units, is a great director of focus and effort for the quality processes and programs inserted in it, accelerating the process maturation and, as a result, the management system.
