摘要

The positive effects of Balneotherapy in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee have been known for a long time. However, one of the side effects of Balneotherapie is a temporary pain increasing during the first few days of treatment. The power generation of the chondrocytic is carried out predominantly through glucose (anaerobic process). The glucose starts with a phosphoryla-tion of the glucose through the enzyme hexokinase. The hexokinase requires activation by magnesium. During the whole process the substrates of the glucose contain one or two phosphoric acid endings. Other then sugars glucose; fructose and glycerines the substrates of the other intermediate products are organic acids... That means, that all substrates are ions and the strength of the electrical alternating field of the Horizontal~R-Therapy therefore has a direct influence on the substrates. The enzymes which are of importance for the reaction process of the glucose are also electrically charged.
