Recently, we have developed a 2D locally regularized strain estimation method [1]; its performance was demonstrated with simulations and freshly excised cut specimens of bovine livers, with the media deformed under well-controlled conditions. In this presentation, we investigate the ability of our algorithm to provide good quality elastograms during freehand examination.
