The existing education system in Serbia is not developmentally oriented. The level ofcompetency, creativity, efficiency, responsibility and competitiveness of educational andscientific work, in spite of considerable personal achievements, does not respond to theneeds of the accelerated development of the society. Without urgent and wide changes,the present level of creating, implementing and diffusion of the new knowledge does notmake possible public wealth. To that effect, legislative, organizational and financial reformof the educational-scientific system is a condition for Serbia’s survival in the civilizationregion of Europe and the contemporary world. According to the previous theoreticalapproach, the research is examining the ways of managers’ education (self-evaluation,ex-ante evaluation and impact evaluation), and also the survey among the industrymanagers, about explicit and tacit knowledge needed for successful managing. Previousresearches have mostly been based on one of the factors mentioned, which made themdeficient. None of the researches was based on four types of knowledge conversion, as afundament for creating learning organizations and the knowledge-based society. Furtherlimitations of previous researches are also in the sample. Participants were either onlyprofessors, or only managers, or only students. In this paper, we are trying to clear awaythese limitations, by including professors, students and managers. The survey is basedon a questionnaire with four types of the knowledge conversion. We will show theattitudes of students of management, their professors, as well as the attitudes of industrymanagers, about the needed knowledge of future managers.
