Assessments are an integral part of e-learning courses that provide feedback to both students and professors in distance learning scenarios. They are normally executed inside an LMS (Learning Management System) which controls the presentation, delivery and evaluation of the questions providing an appropriate runtime environment for answering them. The LMS captures the answers introduced and returns some feedback to the students. The results of the assessments are then used as the input data for other e-learning tools inside the LMS such as grade books or user tracking tools. We present the design and implementation of a QTI (Question and Test Interoperability) based system in which the results of the assessments are also used as a mechanism to modify the own assessments. The main idea is that in on-line education the students can follow the e-learning contents at their own pace. This allows us to use the experience obtained from the first students to improve the quality of the questions presented to the next students. We consider, for example, that questions that are wrongly answered by more than 75% of the students may contain errors or ambiguities, or on the contrary, questions that are answered correctly by nearly all the students may be trivial and not representative. Using the feedback from previous tests to create new ones automatically also helps to avoid the mouth to mouth spreading of the questions among the students making it more difficult for latter students to have an advantage over the previous ones.
