The conventional methods to change a machine component are time consuming. The situation whereby the machine component starts to fail is also difficult to know. The present study describes how machine-monitoring procedure could be used to investigate the vibration mode resulting from the machine components failure such as bearing damaged, gear mesh defect and unbalance. In this analysis, an experimental model was build and experimental data obtained from the model, was then used with the develop programmed from Lab View software to present the graph patterns. It is shows that the machine components that are approaching failure are those that have rapid increase in vibration amplitude and its intensity. The objective of these experiments is to help students understand the characteristics of the machine components failure. From the observation, it is found that the students were satisfied with its functions to provide a better understanding on machine components failure characteristics.
