The Paper addresses the Primary Sources of the extant historical authentic technical naval architecture knowledge-base, the archaeological wreck database, and presents an original Asian Category & type-specimen Classification. Recent Maritime Archaeological Excavations which have been Surveyed (not Salvaged) reveal that the Bakau, Binh Thuan & Desaru Wrecks are China-built Junks of a potentially identifiable 'type-specimen'. No complete authentic Traditional China Sea-going Sailing Trading Junk 'type-specimen' has currently been Salvaged and preserved. The sha ch'uan Pechili Trader is the ancestral precursor to the modern Bulk Carrier, and this Trader Junk has a particular historical maritime affiliation with Shanghai.
